Cable mats allow underfloor heating to be laid over large areas in a short amount of time. They are externally versatile, offering the flexibility to heat any shape of room.

The Varme cable mat system is similar to the Varme loose cable system except the with the mat, the cable comes ready taped to a 50cm wide fibreglass mesh. The advantage over the loose cable system is that it is much faster to lay which is ideal in larger open plan areas.

Varme Mat 200w is based on the same design as Varme Mat 150w. But the output has been increased to 200w/sqm making them ideal for use in conservatories and other areas of high heat loss.

Installation is easy:

  1. Roll our the mat onto the existing sub-floor or insulation boards
  2. When the opposite wall is reached the mesh is cut (do not cut the wire)
  3. The mat is then rolled back in the opposite direction
  4. When the mat is in place, the release paper on the double sided tape is peeled back
  5. The mat is then pressed to the primed floor to hold it in place for tiling

We only supply ‘twin core’ heating cables. Twin core cables have two heating elements inside which gives two important advantages over ‘single core’ cables.

Firstly you only have one end to connect to the power supply, which is a big advantage during the installation process.

Secondly the EMF (electromagnetic field) which is created in all electrical appliances and wiring is dramatically reduced, to a level where it is almost immeasurable. Whilst this may not be a major concern for you today, there is a lot of research currently being undertaken around the globe into the effects of EMF and it is impossible to predict what findings may occur in the years ahead.
