Our 130w carbon heating film is designed to be installed beneath laminate and enginnered wood flooring.
At less than half a millimeter thick , it has a negligible effect on floor height. The film is laid over our exceptional 6mm Depron floor insulation (which replaces the standard flooring underlay) to give a minimal effect on your floor height – less than 6.5mm! This makes it ideal for use in both new buildings and renovations or refurbishments where floor height can be vitally important!
Please note that due to the risk of electrical shock, carbon film heating systems cannot be installed in bathrooms or shower rooms.
Each carbon film kit contains:
- Carbon film heating elements
- 6mm Depron foam underlay
- Digital programmable thermostat
- 3 metre floor probe
- PE protective film barrier
Heat Output
The film is designed as a heating system (not just floor warming) and gives an even heat coverage beneath the whole floor. It is available in two power outputs 130w per sqm for ordinary home heating and 160w per sqm for conservatories where higher heat losses are experienced.
Simple to install
The installation is so simple it can be done by anyone with even the most basic DIY skills, leaving your electrician to connect it up to the mains for you. Please read our installation guide within the Installation tab for further step-by-step installation instructions.
Digital control
The control of the heating system is via our simple to operate, digital thermostat controller which has a 7-day/24 hr timer built in. The thermostat is unobtrusive and takes up the same space as a standard light switch.
Quality
The heating film is manufactured in the UK in a BEAB approved factory and has been used worldwide for many years. It is extremely reliable and comes with a lifetime manufacturers warranty!

An important point to note is that we only supply ‘twin core’ heating cables. Twin core cables have two heating elements inside which gives two important advantages over ‘single core’ cables.
Firstly you only have one end to connect to the power supply, which is a big advantage during the installation process.
Secondly the EMF (electromagnetic field) which is created in all electrical appliances and wiring is dramatically reduced, to a level where it is almost immeasurable. Whilst this may not be a major concern for you today, there is a lot of research currently being undertaken around the globe into the effects of EMF and it is impossible to predict what findings may occur in the years ahead.
